“Aximaris” was opened in May 2012. It is located in the center of St. Petersburg (Hotel Spb) in a 2-minute walk from the metro station “Sportivnaya”, close to the main historical attractions such as the Spit of Vasilievsky Island, Rostral column, the Stock Exchange building, the Museum of Ethnography, Zoological Museum, the Hermitage and Palace Square. Also it is located nearby Zoo, Planetarium, theater “Baltic House”, stadium “Petrovskiy”, the Palace of Sports “Jubileiny” and Prince Vladimir Cathedral.
“Aximaris” is a 15-minute walk far from the Peter and Paul fortress. The embankment of the Neva river is 1 km far from the “Aximaris”, and the Hermitage Museum is 2 km away. It takes 30 minutes by car to get to Moscow Railway Station. The Pulkovo International Airport is 18 km away from the hotel.
Bolshoy Avenue of Petrogradskaya Side is a center of shopping with many shops of world famous fashion brands. There are many restaurants, cafes and small gift shops within walking distance. The house No. 2/5 located at the corner of Bolshoy Avenue of Petrogradskaya Side (building 5) and Zverinskaya Street (building 2) was V. G. Chubakov’s profitable house which was constructed in 1909-1910 according to the project of architect V.I.Van-der-Gyukhta.
The building sustained in modernist style attracts attention with the characteristic rounded corner decorated with a parapet with vases, elegant bay windows and large show-windows on the first floor. The poet Nikolay Tikhonov (1896-1979 gg.) lived in this house from 1922 to 1944. His apartment was one of the literary centers of Leningrad. V. V. Mayakovsky and A.A.Fadeev, Olga Forsh, O.F. Berggolts and many other have been there.
Aximaris is located in the corner of the building and has an entrance from the side of Zverinskaya street (the first entrance). We occupies the second floor and has windows looking on Zverinskaya Street (building 2).
